The SIPLACE team wants to arouse the interest of electronics manufacturers from all over the world with lots of innovations and an exciting presentation concept at this year’s Productronica trade show.

In the SIPLACE Challenge Cup Arena, the SIPLACE team will face the challenges of electronics production head-on

In the SIPLACE Challenge Cup Arena, the SIPLACE team will show manufacturing solutions and innovations that focus on the production challenges facing large and small companies for lots of all sizes.

Among the innovations visitors can examine live are SIPLACE LED Pairing, SIPLACE Smart Pin Support and the SIPLACE Glue Feeder, new set-up concepts such as Random Set-up and Constant Component Tables, as well as more productive manufacturing concepts like SIPLACE Capacity on Demand and SIPLACE Alternative Components.

“With optimally co-ordinated combinations of hardware, software and services, SIPLACE offers electronics manufacturers the advantages in flexibility, speed and efficiency they need across the entire manufacturing cycle. Many manufacturers still struggle with challenges for which SIPLACE is already offering solutions. At Productronica, we want to demonstrate this competitive advantage in an exciting and sporting manner in our SIPLACE Challenge Cup Arena,” explains Gabriela Reckewerth, Head of Global Marketing at SIPLACE. “We invite our customers to tell us about their problems and challenges already before the trade show. It will be very exciting to see how the SIPLACE team will tackle these challenges.”

At this year’s Productronica, the SIPLACE team will show its SIPLACE SX machines with their highly flexible SIPLACE MultiStar CPP heads, which can switch instantly between different placement modes (Collect and Place, Pick and Place, Mixed Mode) and as a result are able to cover an unprecedented product and component spectrum with no line reconfiguration. Two additional heads that the SIPLACE SX can accommodate are the SIPLACE SpeedStar Collect and Place 20-nozzle high-speed head and the SIPLACE TwinHead for special components. As a Capacity-on-Demand platform with interchangeable gantries, the SIPLACE SX1 and SX2 can be easily scaled to varying production requirements, making them the ideal solution for the flexibility requirements of modern EMS companies. With the SIPLACE SX4, which is based on the same platform, SIPLACE offers a high-speed version for use in high-volume production environments.

SIPLACE’s Productronica innovations are expected to garner the most attention at the SIPLACE Challenge Cup. For LED placement applications, SIPLACE LED Pairing offers an automated brightness class management system, and the SIPLACE Precedence Finder automatically determines the correct placement sequence for package-on-package designs, shields, varying nozzle sizes and extra-large components that might normally get in the way of smaller ones. Also new is the option to assign ‘wildcards’ for unknown components when creating a placement programme. That way, even an incomplete programme can be downloaded to the line, where the missing components are taught directly on the machine when the first board gets processed. Users will also be able to define pin-based support for heavy or very sensitive boards in the placement program with SIPLACE Smart Pin Support. A special unit on the first placement head of the SIPLACE line will place the support pins automatically and without any manual interference.

Efficiency improvements in the production run phase will be another feature at the SIPLACE booth. With SIPLACE Alternative Components, for example, users can supplement their regular components with second-source components in the placement program. When one of these alternatives is set up, the SIPLACE placement solution recognises this automatically and keeps the production going with no interruption or placement program reloading.

The SIPLACE team is also expanding its well-known expertise in set-up-related matters at this year’s Productronica. Features like Random Set-up, Constant or Split Tables and Stationwise Download will add to SIPLACE’s portfolio of innovative options for making set-up-contingent line stops increasingly rare exceptions.
