productronica on the horizon

26 September 2011

It’s almost time to get ready for productronica again. The bi-annual event will open its doors for the 19th time from 15th–18th November in it’s usual home at the Munich showgrounds.

In the organisers’ own words, 'productronica is the only place in the world where you will find the entire value chain for electronics manufacturing under a single roof.' It is looking like a bumper year with the organisers reporting a 15% increase in the amount of exhibition space compared with productronica 2009. The number of registered exhibitors is also significantly higher (+ 15%). There are some new developments, including a new PCB Community Area for the semiconductor industry in Hall B1, which is already fully booked.

There will be other new areas on show, for example battery production for electromobility and power electronics. The two subjects may seem quite different but power electronics are indispensable for both the packaging of batteries and all other high-energy components ranging from inverters through to the drive train in automobiles.

Other specialist areas at the exhibition include Efficient Production Management, Electronics Manufacturing Services and Organic and Printed Electronics.

For those who wish to attend the exhibition as visitors, admission normally costs €47, but tickets can be obtained for free from Purex by emailing purex@purex.co.uk.
