APEX – introducing the event…

25 March 2008

The 2008 IPC Printed Circuits Expo, APEX and the Designers Summit will encompass more than 154,000 net square feet of exhibit space at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Convention Center, Las Vegas. The exhibition and technical conference will take place April 1–3, while other meetings and programs begin March 29.

More than 10,000 executives and engineers/managers representing original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), printed circuit board (PCB) companies and electronics manufacturing services providers are expected to attend.

Mary Mac Kinnon, IPC director of trade show sales, believes the success of the shows is due to the perfect marriage of “top-notch suppliers and industry solution providers with a qualified audience of industry executives. These executives attend our meeting not only for the technical conference and standards development meetings, but also to roll up their sleeves and get down to business — specifying, influencing, or purchasing equipment, materials, services for PCB manufacturing and electronics assembly worldwide.” She adds, “There’s no other event like it in the world, and our exhibitors, time after time, have recognized the great value the shows offer them.”

Mac Kinnon also noted that the event also attracts an international audience. “More than 12 percent of our attendees are international and because of the attraction of Las Vegas as an ideal worldwide destination, our international audience is sure to grow.”

Jeffrey Timms, chairman of the APEX trade show subcommittee and vice president and general manager, Siemens Energy & Automation, Inc., Electronics Assembly Systems, concurs, “The commitment to the global electronics market is reflected in the number of companies that have selected IPC Printed Circuits Expo, APEX and the Designers Summit as their preferred trade show for 2008. IPC’s trade shows remain low cost and offer companies an ideal marketing opportunity. For attendees, the benefits should be clear — they can hone their technical and management skills and network with companies on the exhibit floor. It’s a perfect combination.”
