Manufacturing the ‘hardly visible’!

12 October 2007

This year, almost 230 international exhibitors (there were just 122 companies in 2005) have registered for hall B5 at Productronica, where the focus is on micro manufacturing.

Micro technology will be discussed at the ZVEI forum

Visitors interested in micro manufacturing will be especially attracted by the live production line “Customised System in Package Solutions” which will be set up in hall B5, booth B5.255. This live demonstration will show how to manufacture tiny programmable RFID components and demonstrates its functions.

Micro-/nanotechnology products and systems on display in B5 will include:
- Mounting and connection technology
- Packaging
- Materials
- Simulation techniques
- Development tools
- Microproduction systems
- Micro-insertion systems
- Micro-assembly and handling systems
- Ultra-precision machine tools
- Bonders
- Measuring and testing systems
- Interlinking equipment
- Nanotechnology, nanoproduction
- Nano-applications

A special exhibition highlight within hall B5 is “MicroNanoWorld”, the industry platform for innovative solutions in micro manufacturing. MicroNanoWorld is showcasing the latest manufacturing techniques for automotive and machine manufacturing, communications and medical technology and in the electronics industry.

The micro manufacturing exhibition segment in hall B5 attracts many well-known companies. They emphasize their special production competence in the fields of industrial, automotive, medical and other applications. The exhibitors’ list of this area includes some high-class names like AMI DODUCO, Carl Zeiss, F & K Delvotec, several Fraunhofer Institutes, Laser 2000, LEONI, LPKF Laser & Electronics, Newport Spectra-Physics, Physik Instrumente, Rofin-Sinar and TRUMPF Laser.

On the show floor, three forums will offer presentations and panel discussions by industry experts. At the “VDMA Forum” in hall B5, the German Engineering Federation VDMA offers all participants a valuable communications platform, on which acknowledged experts will lecture on their practical experiences with the latest micro manufacturing solutions. The ZVEI forum in Hall B3 and the Productronica Forum in Hall A6 offer additional information on micro and nano technology. The forum programs are available at www.productronica.com
